This biography of Michaëlle Jean is a high-interest, low-vocabulary book for adolescents and adults with limited literacy skills. In 1968, Michaëlle Jean and her family fled Haiti to escape dictator Duvalier’s regime. She came to Canada as a refugee. Michaëlle worked as a journalist and broadcaster. At 48 years old, Michaëlle’s life changed when she was asked to be Canada’s Governor General.
